PAINT YOUR COUNTY PARKS II

This competition will expose the area’s vibrant arts community and highlight the beauty and benefits of Saint Charles’ County Parks. The winning painting will hang at the County Parks Administration Office. The following ten County Parks which artists may paint are: Bangert Island Park, Broemmelsiek Park, Heritage Park, Hideaway Harbor Park, Indian Camp Creek Park, Klondike Park, Matson Hill Park, Quail Ridge Park, Towne Park and Youth Activity Park. Dates to paint are from August 1 through October 31, 2014. The deadline for submitting your painting is October 31, 2014.

JUROR

JANET FONS, originally from Detroit, has an extensive professional background in art, as a graphic artist and art director. After graduating from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Fine Art in printmaking, Janet moved west to Colorado where she began painting landscapes.
While working full time, Janet discovered the Art Students League of Denver and began taking classes with Doug Dawson. In 2000, Janet decided to take the leap to painting full time.
Currently residing in Missouri, Janet is a founding member of Art Group 360, a group of local artists who collaborate and create thematic group exhibitions. Her artwork can be seen at Grafica Contemporary Fine Art in Webster Groves, MO and O/A Gallery in Kirkwood, MO. Her work has been exhibited and collected nationally.
